Most of the Napa prints would have been useless, I think. And AFAIK the suspected Z print would have been technically incomparable to the SF prints anyway.

How so, even if there were only a few good ridges , couldn't those be compared to the Napa prints ?

Well, it has to be a like-for-like comparison. You need, say, two right index finger prints (that are both good enough), or two palm prints (which are good enough) in order to make a comparison. The only Napa print I've seen which has been considered a possible Z print is the infamous "moist" palm print. So, even if that print is a good one (which is probably isn't - because Snook made a mistake when he lifted it) you'd need a good palm print from the cab to compare it to.

The SF prints which the cops believed to be Z's (the "bloody" ones) might have been compared to the whole batch of Napa prints for all I know, but I can't confirm that. A match was clearly never found if they were, however - which of course proves nothing, because - as I said above - most of these prints are useless, in the sense that they're obviously not Z's (a public phone booth is bound to be covered in fingerprints).

These bloody prints left on the cab,
Maybe, the clue to unlocking this case.
I have a feeling, the Killer was not alone.
Has the SFPD run this prints through lately?
Because, those prints may not have been on file
At that time. How hard can it be to Press the button?
Dose SFPD need a reason?

None of the witnesses ever reported seeing a second person, either at the scene or fleeing from it.

Are there any confirmed Zodiac fingerprints in the public domain?

To my knowledge (and I appreciate others correcting me for the record) prints were left at Lake Berryessa (the palm print at the phone booth) and the Stine Murder (the bloody print). A palm print was found on the one or more of the letters. By last count there were 30 full or partial prints left by Zodiac which have been used to eliminate several suspects include ALA, Kane, and Ross Sullivan.
The effort should always be to try and eliminate suspects not to confirm them.

Thank you for the response. What I'm looking for is fingerprints that are sufficient quality for my fingerprint expert to compare against. I have fingerprints from my POI--the one I have been speaking to for a few months. I can raise the fingerprint lifts, but my experience with law enforcement out there is they won't do the comparisons on forensic evidence. You gotta spoon-feed them. As an aside, I completely understand this. However, my expert has a reputation in the field that is enough to justify their taking a look if he says they should. The only thing I'm lacking is questioned fingerprints to compare against my knowns. The versions of the Stine lifts that I've seen online are of poor quality for comparison purposes.

I don’t think Zodiac prints are in the public domain. I don’t know how you might get your hands on them. If you do, let me know. :)

There are decent-ish pics of the cab prints online if that's what you mean.

I don't think any of the prints are the Zodiacs. How stupid would he be to leave prints, esp. if he was in the military? No one should be eliminated because their prints don't match.
