Looking at Soze's family trees in the OP, I was very much in the same boat as mike_r, when he responded:

Sure, some of the connections are a long way from from straight ancestor-descendant relationships, and include marriages and up-branching (if that's a concept) as well as the ancestor-to-descendant down-branching trees. Still, that said, the genealogy is showing that there is some relationship connection of some kind between the four victims. And that's still feeling a bit weird to me.
And who is this patriarch Joshua Hightower in any case?
