It could be the significance of weekends had more to do with when there would be a supply of potential victims out and about. In other words, it was the victims who had jobs, or were students.

Sort of like a fisherman checking lunar charts and saying "This is the best time to go get them..."

Good point, Marshall! Works either way. Maybe, both ways.

David Faraday and Betty Lou had an 11 pm curfew for their "first" date. Darleen and Mike--I think she told her babysitter she was going to get firecrackers for a party. I may be wrong about that, but, there are so many theories put forth by people that they were buying pot, etc. Bryan and Cecelia--I read on another site a post from Cecelia's old roommate that she believed she and Bryan would possibly be getting engaged or married in the future. Bryan had a girlfriend in another state. I can't help but wonder if Cecelia would have went out with him on a late afternoon picnic if she knew that. And Paul S. left a party to take that cab shift--he wasn't suppose to be working that evening.
I have no judgement towards any of the victims at all. And I personally believe zodiac trolled sites, not victims. So it strikes me as sad, strange that these young people were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Has merit.
Ron Goldman was in the wrong place too.

That's the only acceptable thing that they have in common, and it is interesting.
There are thing that we cannot fit get will, like herman road is unlikely a lover's line, I don't think ferrin-mageau was on a date... Mageau is a not reliable witness and all the 3 layers of clothes is an alarm.

For me I'd say he always seemed to set up a situation where he had the victims at a disadvantage - He set up a situation where he had control.

I've often thought this was to avoid physical altercation becaude maybe he was at some disadvantage like an injury / disability.

Of course, he was primarily attacking couples - so two ppl could attack him or split up and run...

Your comment its too much interesting, but i dont feel exactly the same.
In Ferrin murder and stein, for sure. In lake herman road, im no sure, the bodie of faraday its to close to the shell casing were dropping (but he could not be pointing with the gun until faraday round the car and was a surprice shoot, ot there other diferent thing in this case, mybe there was no other car park aside and the killer go by feet across some field to their car...) but in lake berriesa there was control but i cannot say that he was avoiding the risk of confrontation.
i preffer link zodiac to domingoes killing than bates, becouse like berriesa is much similar to that, even not been confirmed this its true a very similar modus operandi, and i want to point that even Domingoes murder is less reserched as far we know after been tied posible he get of the ropes and fight and then were shoot down. At least using as a comparation, even been diferent killers, should be said that like berriesa was highly risk and no so sure if it could be said that was advantage position. But also could be said that the target if was not choose until the attack, the ocasion should be taken based in the location, restricted exist by the lake, going up the hill, that is a point in your favor fisherman.

This is something I noticed as well. If you look at other possible earlier victims, the same applies. Robert Domingoes and Linda Edwards were ditching school when they were killed. Cheri Jo Bates is unaccounted for for several hours on the night of her murder and was known to have been seeing two men at the time. He liked victims in compromised situations. Possibly because he figured there would be less resistance on their part, but also because it would make the crime that much more difficult to investigate.
