Five Finger Death Punch’s Jason Hook Lands Role in Zodiak Killer Film ‘Z’

With Five Finger Death Punch in between tours at the moment, guitarist Jason Hook recently took some time out to take on an acting gig. Hook landed a role in the upcoming movie, Z, about the Zodiac Killer and he’s posted some photos from the set.
The guitarist is all cleaned up for the role, taking on the part of an FBI agent for the feature. The film also features actor Shane West and actress Leslie Bibb, though little is known about the movie that appears to be in the early stages of filming.
“Took a bit of a departure today, acting in my first film for Sony Pictures called Z about the Zodiac killer (40 years after the original murders),” stated Hook in one posting. “Played the part of an FBI agent. Shot on location in Ottawa, Ontario. I managed to get through my scene without screwing it up! LOL! Back to Vegas in the morning to continue recording with the guys.”

Shane West Boards Sony’s Serial-Killer Creeper ‘Z’

EXCLUSIVE: Shane West is set to star opposite Leslie Bibb in Z, writer-director Jonathan Wright’s thriller about a couple that gets in over their heads with a serial killer. The project is set up at Sony Pictures Worldwide and is being produced by Michael Baker and Jeff Sackman.

The story follow a down-on-their-luck couple young who discover a serial killer’s film reels. They decide to take the law into their own hands, risking everything for the chance at a $100,000 reward. It isn’t long until they find themselves in the killer’s lethal cross-hairs. West plays blue-collar husband Mick Branson, who can’t seem to get ahead in life. Stressed, broke and with very little chance of escaping a lifetime of poverty, he’s willing to do just about anything for his true love, even if it puts his life in jeopardy.

West is in production on Season 3 of WGN America series Salem, which will premiere during Halloween week. West also has Here Alone premiering at Tribeca this weekend. He will head straight into Z as soon as he wraps Salem. Production starts in Ottawa at the end of May.

Wow! It does look good....really good. Well known actors...Sony. I'm sold. A couple of things sort of bugged me, but that is because I am so particular. Couldn't they have used the REAL composite? lol

Really, this is sort of a fantasy for all of us. Some storage unit somewhere....

Damn, Zodiac should have paid his bill.

Very interesting. The composite they made for the movie makes the Zodiac look extremelly young. Why the hell didn´t they used the real one?

I'd be a bit particular as well but that kinda happens ... eventually. S'good they're getting it out there again albeit in a modern, what if format. He doesn't sound like he's aged much, old Z. Not that we've ever heard his voice. I noticed as well that the forum screen (assuming that's what it was) on the monitor had our colour scheme.
