Didn't see a thread on this book anywhere. I just ordered the book from ebay and can't wait to read it. What's everyone opinion on this book?

Is it too late to cancel your order? Because if you're looking for a strong case for his father being Z, that is what I recommend. On the other hand, hthere might be something to his father being the Black Dahlia killer.

I don't think his father was Z, but a good chance he was the Black Dahlia murderer. The book was only $4 w/ free shipping.

If you guys are looking for a good book, I recommend "It Gave Everybody Something to Do" by Louise Thoresen. I'm almost done with it, and it is really good! It mentions how her husband liked to party in the Haight-Ashbury area and would often bring home people he had met to party at his home until sunrise. I have been wondering if Zodiac ever partied at the Thoresen mansion. That would be pretty wild. A lot of crazy stuff went down in that house!

The Louise Thoresen book is good! I have wondered if any of the Manson Family members ever partied at the house on Broadway in SF. The Family had many guns confiscated at the Spahn Ranch raids and you know they didn't come by them legally. I could see them stealing guns from Thoresen.

You think there is a good chance that his dad killed Elizabeth Short?

I dunno, I haven't read the whole book, but I do know that he thinks his dad was the killer because he found a photograph of a brown haired woman that he believes was her. I've seen the photo and it doesn't really look like her, or at least it's difficult to say for sure if it's her. And it's just a normal photo, not a picture of a crime. Let's just say for sure that it is her, maybe his dad was just a fan and took a photo of a famous actress. That's really flimsy evidence to call him the murderer.

His zodiac evidence is even sketchier. He "looks like" the Zodiac. He just assumes that if his dad committed one murder, he committed more murders and those murders are unsolved, so the only explanation is that his dad must be the Zodiac too.

Hmmm interesting. I bet Thoresen would have noticed even a single gun missing from his arsenal, but so many people partied at his house that he couldn't know who did it. And he travelled so much that it would have probably been easy for someone to break in and get their hands on some of these weapons.

Or maybe the Manson family had connections with someone in LE who tipped them off to the raid of Thoresen's mansion and they were able to get their hands on some of the confiscated weapons.

I do think he killed Elizabeth Short, but not because of the photo. Based on everything I have read, I think he is easily the best suspect. Hodel being Z... it's possible, but I don't see it. Wasn't there some weird letter published in a newspaper that claimed that Z was the son of the Black Dahlia murderer or something odd like that?

I couldn't even make it through the book. I got bored with it. I bought the kindle version, so I can always go back and maybe if I have nothing else to read, but I agree that it kind of sounded like he was trying to give his father a bad name. Especially because he was trying to link him to so many different murders. The Edward Edwards book was along the same line, but that one was at least funny enough to make it through.
