Here is an Earl Van Best who died Aug 10 1974.

Seems like he was a diplomat, or am I wrong?

If he was a diplomat, and was a family member of The suspect EVB, could that be why Gary L Stewart claim that police new more than they are saying? Could police have known but didn´t want the scandal or somthing like that?

It could be TF. I found a marriage record for Earl Best and he married a woman named Edith.

Could he have vanished in 1974, and then was declared dead in 84???? It's a month to the day after his Birthday. I almost want to fast forward this book. Could explain why Z went silent in 1974 if this guy was z

I don't know about the diplomat thing. It could be something to do with an American citizen seeking help at a US Embassy in Vienna. Not sure where the Mexico comes into play either but when Best and Judy were on the run, Mexico was a place that they were known to have gone. Best's name may have been flagged with Mexico as a place he was known to go.

Again, I'm very early on in the book, but it's stated that he imported books from Mexico or something along those lines. I will have to double check, I know it was Mexico because I immediately thought of the Lee/Mexico talk from the BRS reports

In school, Best told his Friend about an 'asian slave box', and told his friend that he believed some cultures collected the souls of their slaves for the afterlife in those kind of boxes. He told his Friend that he would like to 'collect one of his own', and would walk down the halls and point to a girl,and say "she'd make a good one, don't you think" (meaning slave)

Seems like thise elder EVBs have some high up connections. Still not sure though wheter the diplomat EVB is related to the suspect?

Also, they are just getting into Best visiting Mexico to try and find rare or valuable books, the books & documents were pre-colonial. He also searched for rare comic books
