Some of the writing is similar, but some differences too. One major flaw, he has provided writing from the "1990 card", which I assume is the Eureka card. That is meaningless, and not sure why he included it as his suspect died in 1984.

They aren't even attempting to claim it as an actual solution, or show a method, or a key, or anything. Just saying "LOOK! EARLVANBESTJR is 13 characters and so is the cipher!"
That's pretty ridiculous. If you could solve a cipher by just taking it and writing whatever the hell you want underneath, we would have HUNDREDS of "solutions."
