Zolo,
I love this app. I was wondering if you ever plan to add the feature of being able to change the symbols to possibly read more than just one letter. Like a part 2...where lets say the symbol "+" could be inputted with more than just one letter.....and so on. I will keep my fingers crossed. ;) :D

Thanks again.

Hi bmichelle!
Thank you for the suggestion! It would be not an easy update since the decrypting logic changes drastically. But I will think about it and maybe update the app.
Wouldn't it be too hard to decrypt such a cipher though?

Hello,
Nice proposal from BMichelle.
Zolo, it is not possible to be able to create cipher with vertical messages, inverted etc, and that also allow addition numerical symbols ??? !!

cheers
Marcelo

ps:Updates are formidable and bugs are gone

Adding vertical, inverted encryption and other types of ciphers in general seems like a logical next step for the app. And these feature will probably be added in the app some time in the future.
For now, you can invert the input text yourself when creating a cipher - that'll do the trick :)
But again, won't it be too difficult to decrypt a vertical or/and inverted cipher if you don't know that it's vertical/inverted? I don't really know how it is possible (I'm sure it's not for professional cryptologists but it might be for people for whom encrypting is a hobby at best).

As for numerical symbols, are they really necessary? They can always be replaced by words.
I think, adding these symbols would bring nothing but confusion and extra difficulty. The same is for punctuation marks, symbols from other alphabets and special characters.
There is also a practical reason to keep only English characters. As the text is encrypted using characters from the Zodiac cryptogram, you don't want to expand the plaintext alphabet too much.
Well, that's my reasoning. But if you are still sure that the numerical symbols are necessary I can add them.

Yes, you are right, this could hinder the popularization of your project.

It is that I had this idea, silly, so that it was possible to create, and try to decipher also, the cipher, in which the numbers, depending on their vertical and horizontal organization, and with the clues we indicated, gave the possibility of a mathematical analysis SUDOKO style, or by standard logic.
But, as you said earlier, it's better not to complicate.
so, nevermind my bs :D
Otherwise, I love this APP.
Congratulations Zolo. :)

Well, at the end of the day, it all comes to adding new types of ciphers and ways to encrypt/decrypt. And it definitely looks like a correct direction for the app to evolve :)
