Mitnick Ciphers (non-Zodiac)

A few years ago, a friend and I were the first to solve the ciphers from Kevin Mitnick's book "Ghost in the Wires." Which is a book I recommend reading! Just for fun, and challenge, I want to see who else can solve these. Part of solving them involves reading the book for the clues, but I will add them here instead. I want to see who can do these. It might be fun. The first cipher is:

Max vhlm hy max unl wkboxk ingva B nlxw mh ingva fr hpg mktglyxkl

Solve it! I don't care who solves them, one correct solution, and then I will post the next one.
Don't even PM me. Just post your solution and say how you solved it. They get much harder, BTW.

QT - Yes, that is correct. It should be book instead of fool, I know that either will fit.

The answer was: "THE PAPER TRIP"

Here is the next cipher, they get a bit harder:

pbzfsobp dkfobtpkx lq pbkfi ppbkfpry aoxtolc iixz lq abpr bobt pbzfsba cl bmvq obail bpbeQ
