The other topics in my panel sound very interesting:

"The other speakers will discuss the History and Highlights of the FBI’s Cryptanalysis and Racketeering Unit and Unsolved Cryptograms from Criminals and Crime Victims."

At this point, it seems there's a better chance of finding Bigfoot than solving the 340.

Either one would be really cool :P

Thanks for the words of support; they boosted my morale!

The talk seemed to go well. I'm gonna polish the video and upload it, probably in a few days.

Meanwhile here are the slides: http://www.zodiackillerciphers.com/?p=625

And thanks to everyone here on the forums. My talk wouldn't be possible without everyone's contributions to the study of the ciphers!

Awesome! Looking at the slides, you seem to have covered pretty much all of the interesting observations we've discussed here. Did you get any feedback from other people at the conference? I wouldn't be surprised if some of the seasoned cryptographers would point out some obvious (to them) things that we might've missed. Something like "well, if you are getting a peak for bigram repeats at distance 19 and you have much fewer repeats at even positions, it must be encrypted with XXXX". Or any helpful comments at all?

These slides are a great summation of the 340's features/observations. Thanks allot doranchak for putting it all together!

How does Knight/Nuhn's cipher type detection work?
