SF Chronicle articles about the July 31 letters

I would like to note that in the first two articles it is reported that LE is not convinced that whoever was the killer at LHR and BRS was the writer of the letters and cipher. It was felt that the infomation contained in the letters could have been obtained from witnesses at the two crime scenes.
A couple more articles that appeared in the Chronicle about the 408.
The first one is from Aug. 10, 1969 page 26 and mentions, towards the end, that a letter was received by the Examiner following the letter with the portion of the cipher. I was not able to find any other mention of the Aug. 1969 letter in the Chronicle.
The second article was written Aug.12, 1969 page 6 and delves into the Robert Emmett the Hippie as the solution of the last 18 letters and symbols of the cipher controversary.
