Re: Question Marks??? From Zodiac
It's probably just something more innocuous disguised as a gorilla. Like deciding to use a dictionary by the end of line two. I mean express vs expression and consternti... it really wasn't starting too well. Again though there's that little light blinking in the back of my mind suggesting that even this was him up to something ... or maybe not. I can't quite make up my mind about what was going on with express... . Perhaps his mind was wandering, who knows?
I mean assuming it is Z and I think it is then he did have other things on his mind when he was creating this letter. First off he was having to be mindful of the construction disguise pertaining to the letter's overall purpose. Was he trying to sneak in a Zodiac letter with just enough visually identifiable clues for it to be found or was he trying to sneak in a citizen letter, ironic as that is given the subject matter? Or was he trying to sneak in a fake citizen letter to see if it would be found and as such was trying to juggle several aspects at once. One being the content and tone of the letter and the other being the construction of the letterforms and words.
It's that old question of whether his spelling mistakes are deliberate or not. For now I tend not to know. Perhaps he did have problems in that area but he played with them for the letters. Sometimes correcting sometimes letting them ride. Maybe in real life he was more careful and dictionary orientated and had improved his 'condition' over time but chose to re-instate some of those habits as an added layer of disguise.
