Zodiac has a very unique and undisguisable writing habit. It's there, easy to see, and I bet he had no idea whatsoever that he did it.

Look thru the letters randomly. Every word such as BOUGHT,FOUGHT,RIGHT,NIGHT,SOUGHT,etc....
Z oddly spaces after the letter g. Literally any letter g,followed by the letter H, has an odd space there.

BOUG HT
FOUG HT
RIG HT
NIG HT
SOUG HT

You get the picture,but please,have a look and correct me if I am wrong. I think this is a major clue to Zodiac's writing,and something that could ID him if we ever saw letters written by him including this tell-tale clue.

Any opinions,thoughts,ideas??

Just randomly picked the Bus Bomb letters to see if I would encounter an example of what you are referring to and almost immediately found 2 instances on page 4/6.

Good observation. I wonder how many such tell-tale signs can be reliably counted on to help us non-handwriting experts separate the good documents from the phonies.

Great observation, morf! That definitely seems like a consistent trait and would almost certainly be present in Z's natural handwriting. Sometimes the devil is in the detail...

Love it. It's little gems of thought and sharing like this that make up, or at least could add to, the bigger picture.

I also found plenty of examples to back that up in a quick random search. What's interesting is that it only seems to happen with an 'H' following the g. Words such as 'gun' are written frequently and don't contain such a gap.
Great observation, it's things like that behaviour which catch people out, even when disguising handwriting I'm sure people don't realise they're still leaving plenty of clues that go beyond the shape of the letters.

Good observation. But I did a somewhat thorough accounting, as follows:
Debut of Zodiac letter: p. 2 "nig ht", p. 3, "lig ht" (3 times), "sig ht"
Stine letter: nig ht, caug ht (2nd "night" in "The police could have caught me last night..." was evenly spaced).
Bus Bomb letter: p. 2, "boug ht," the 2nd time he wrote "bought," the spacing between the g and h was more uniform; p. 6 "sight" (iffy)
Belli letter: "rig ht"
Citizen card: "light" was evenly spaced.

So, out of 13 possible writings of "gh," Zodiac put a space between the "g" and "h" 9 times.

He also often put a space between the root word and suffix, in his early letters. I think he did this when he was most mentally agitated, and would not necessarily do this when he was suppressing his "Zodiac" side, i.e., in his normal, everyday life.

You will also notice the same gap sometimes between the letters P and H. Like the word "cipher" for example. These gaps could actually serve to be a bigger clue than we realize.
