No idea who witness is, nor have I tried to find out because I think it's best to respect his right to remain anonymous and my way of thinking is, if he/she felt comfortable and even safe discussing this case and who they had pointed to as the suspect then they would already be here without any coaxing. My view is, I want the suspect named by the witness, the witness has a right to remain silent and away from this case. I would imagine that it scared that kid half to death when they became aware that not only had they pointed to Man A as a Cab Driver Murderer, but turns out he's a bit more high profile than that, he's actually "The San Francisco Zodiac Killer?" And to top it all, they are going to let him go without charge! That would be utterly terrifying to your average adult, but at aged Eight? Maybe that person has lived in enough fear over the years and just doesn't want to go on record which, if that were the case, I for one absolutely understand.
