Something is mysterious with Bryan Hartnell's police report.

"This girl came out from school, - I used to go with her two years ago, and she's now going to another school, and she came up to visit some friends, and we were having dinner..."
We know that Cecelia Shepard went to a Loma Linda College, later was at Pacific Union in Angwin. Now if she 'came up', is Bryan referring to her coming up from Loma Linda? And if so..how could he then have been going out with her (as he did not live there)? Did she switch her school a second time?

They had dated in the past but you have to remember that first interview happened while he was in the hospital and full of painkillers.

This is actually why he was able to give the interview, imo. His sentence is very clear but am I not able to follow his idea about which school he is actually talking about. Or if he had met her before, in Loma Linda area - which is why I came up with this thread.

He actually has his office near Loma Linda university. I wonder why he had moved there or if he had known Cecelia from this area.

This 'two years ago' must have been in 1967. Cecilia went to Loma Linda University until 1967.

actually implies that he had Cecilia as a girlfriend some time during or after her living in Loma Linda. The 'other' school, however, must have been another one than Pacific Union, as Bryan was aware that they had both left Pacific Union after their dinner. OR he had her as a girlfriend while she was still in Loma Linda?

Obviously, the 'another school' is the Pacific Union, where they had surprisingly met in the cafeteria. But which school is he actually talking about when mentioning her as his ex girlfriend who NOW goes to another school? If not the one in Loma Linda? Pacific Union is definitely not the school he is talking about ('now'; 'another school').

This school most likely is located South of Angwin ('she came up').

This detail might be important as Cecilia might have met Z previously at this particular school. Therefore, Z might be present in the yearbook of that school.

OR Bryan had met her in the Loma Linda area, where he now leaves nearby. Then, why did she 'came up' while she was actually at Pacific Union?

To me, all of this sounds as if Bryan had dated Cecilia in the Loma Linda area..her visiting some friends at Pacific Union, but already going to another school (which one?).

Maybe somebody can clear this mess up a little..oh, one of the articles mentions her being a fifth year senior music student at University of California (La Sierra music?), Riverside..this would explain her going 'now' to 'another school'.

She finished La Sierra in 1967 (Yearbook) and is then in the 1968 & 1969 yearbook for Pacific Union. She was leaving Pacific Union to start at the University of California in Riverside when the attack took place.
