The Blue Valiant?

Postby Talon » Wed Apr 29, 2015 4:27 pm

I've read a few times that witnesses said they had seen Darlene and Mike being followed by a blue Plymouth Valiant or that a blue Valiant was seen in the area of BLS. I've also read that it was a detective that actually mentioned a Valiant, not a witness. Does anyone know the real story?

Anyway, I find this image of Darlene, Dean and Steven Key, I think, interesting. It appears Key is holding something behind his back and there are keys in the trunk lock of the blue Valiant.

Was that his car? Maybe Key was meeting DF and MM
that night at BRS to sell them some reefer.
Has SK been interviewed by police?

The blue (possibly a) Valiant mentioned in the LHR report:

The blue cars mentioned by VPD Officer Meyring in regards to LHR.

I will find the mention of a blue car at BRS, but I don't remember one following them.

His name was Steven/Stephen Alan Kee (not Key)

In between late 1950s and the 1970s he lived at 112 Cottonwood Dr , Vallejo with Roscoe H Kee and Annette Kee (his mom and dad I presume)

He was born:

California Birth Index, 1905-1995
about Stephen Alan Kee
Name: Stephen Alan Kee
Birth Date: 16 Aug 1946
Gender: Male
Mother's Maiden Name: Thompson
Birth County: Solano

He died in 1994:

California Death Index, 1940-1997
about Stephen Alan Kee
Name: Stephen Alan Kee
Social Security #: 561661198
Sex: MALE
Birth Date: 16 Aug 1946
Birthplace: California
Death Date: 16 Nov 1994
Death Place: Solano
Mother's Maiden Name: Thompson

There are several addresses on Steven A Kee (as an adult it seems) down in Southern California, about 65 miles east of Riverside, here are two of the addresses:

8 La Ronda Dr, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, USA
69845 Sunny Ln, Cathedral City, CA 92234, USA

Wonder what he was doing down there? and if he had family down there, also back in the 60s?

I have not been able to find any marriage records on Steven A Kee.

OBS...Of possible interest: Betty Lou Jensen and Steven Kee seem to have been neighbors back in 1960, the two houses are located door to door:

Jensen, Verne M. (Betty Lou Jensens father)... listed in the 1960 directory as being a Major and residing at 118 Cottonwood Dr, Vallejo, CA
Kee, Roscoe H (Steve Kee's father)................listed in the 1960 directory as being a mech MINS and residing at 112 Cottonwood Dr, Vallejo, CA

In 1960 Steven Kee would have been 14 years old (he was born 16 Aug 1946 )
In 1960 Betty Lou Jensen would have been 8 years old (she was born 22 Jul 1952)

I wonder if Steven Kee and Betty Lou Jensen knew each other in someway, was some kind of "friends" back then ?

And in the 1940s/1950s Roscoe and Anette Kee was listed in Modesto!

Wow, interesting find Foreigner. By the way, I am partially redacting some of your post since he is alive & may not want all of this info posted

EDIT: Since this info is public info and can be found on ancestry.com, etc, I left his info there, and want to state, nobody is accusing him of any crime.

TF--What directory are you looking at?

I show in the Polk in 1968 The Jensens' at 123 Ridgewood. I guess they could have moved, but weren't they fairly new to the area? Trying to remember...

Also, my Polk doesn't show a 118 on Ridgewood. Mine could be inaccurate too of course. Just trying to figure it out. There is no Kee listed there at that this time.

Found it on Ancestry In the:
California Vallejo 1961 Vallejo, California, City Directory, 1960-1961

Roscoe H Kee and Verne M Jensen are listed side by side in the phonebook at 112 and 118 Cottonwood Drive.
