Was there kids or teenage witnesses at LHR ?

Been reading Lafferty's book today and no didn't pay the $50 bucks and got it at the local library today. Anyhow he states that the LHR murder was actually Benicia Jurisdiction and not Solano County. Sergeant Lundblad was ordered to turn over to Benicia LE everything he had on the murders. Lunblad says he won't do it though cause he promised the kids there identity never will be revealed. So my question is this, who are these kids he mentioned ? Are they witnesses to the LHR crime scene ?

I would doubt that. If there were any witnesses who could, say for example, give a description of the offenders vehicle, the make or model, maybe colour etc, it would havve been made public in all likelyhood. The only thing comes to mind regarding your question is the episode of 'True crime with Aphro Jones - The Zodiac Killer'. In that episode they interview a witness in the area of the Blue Rock Shooting, but not LHR. I am not aware of any witnesses at or on, even near Lake H Rd at or around the time the killer struck. In fact, Russel Butterbach said that they discovered through investigation that there was activity on Lake Herman in one form or another, except for a six minute period where no members of the public were on the road, nor were there people on foot close to the scene. He states it was within this six minute time frame that the assialent struck.

Well these kids had to have something to do with the LHR murders and why Lundblad was protecting there identity. I guess Lundblad never gave them up and why they don't show up in the police reports.

It could also be that they could not offer anything useful to investigators. If they said they heard something that sounded like a fire cracker but don't know around what time, can't recall much detail as had consumed alcohol etc. They could have also themselves refused to give a statement, and if told they must by police could simply claim to remember seeing and hearing nothing. Who knows?

True who knows but to me seems like they had something important to add to the case or know reason to protect them.

Well there was an eight year old witness at the Presidio Heights attack who not only saw a suspect, but named him as someone he thought he recognized. This info has never been released.

But he is at least mentioned in reports. These kids are not mentioned anywhere I know of on the LHR reports. This is the first I heard of them reading Lafferty's book.

Well he was mention vaguely as been a witness to the Stine murder and that he existed. These kids were never mention as even exiting in the LHR reports.

I think I remember in Graysmith's YB that when David and Betty first got to LHR there was a few other vehicles parked there. Maybe these kids Lundblad was protecting was in one of those vehicles.

Thats why I would doubt the truth behind the claim. Its coming from a 2nd hand sorce almost half a century after the event. No report mentions such witnesses in official documentation.
