I wonder if they weren't going to get out and that is why their killer shot at the window..demanding they get out.
Considering where the bullet hit David, it's almost like whoever it was told them to stand facing the car. More cop-like moves.
Different look on it and sounds plausible. But I don't get the cop thing shooting out the rear window to get there attention. That sounds like opposite what cops ever should do.Tahoe27 wrote:I wonder if they weren't going to get out and that is why their killer shot at the window..demanding they get out.

It's just that certain things Zodiac does reminds me of the techniques LE uses...not that he actually was a cop.
On the 4th of July: I did not open the car door, The window was rolled down all ready."
The section I have highlighted is significant because it's almost as if Zodiac is saying in reply "On the 4th July: I did not open the car door (As I had done at Lake Herman Road)?

Interesting take!....I had been wondering along those lines in relation to the locked doors. It's like their initial reaction was to lock all doors. While we cannot say it was not a panic reaction to a shot being fired/guy with a gun in his hand, I just wonder if there wasn't something that occurred before the shooting/they noticed a gun. A lesser threat in their eyes...locked the doors as opposed to trying to start the engine and get out of there.
Personally I would,nt doubt that Z was in full control, had the passenger door covered and instructed them to exit that door. He may well have opened it once he instructed them to unlock it.
I still believe there is something we are missing because they spent so much time parked alongside each other and Z decided he wanted them out of the car.

Behind which gate, anyway? (I've seen no diagram or photo of the print position that I can recall, please help.)
Re: the drivers door being locked, how about - "You stay here and lock the doors. I'll get out and talk to him/them."
Wier, can you expand on "they spent so much time parked alongside each other and Z decided he wanted them out of the car" please?Welsh Chappie wrote:On the 4th of July: I did not open the car door, The window was rolled down all ready."
That response addressed something that was in the San Francisco Chronicle of July 6th, 1969 (Page A9) which said "the car door was torn open shortly after they had parked". In correcting it, our boy was trying to give further proof that he was at the scene.
Re: "I've also read the account that claims a scuffle took place shortly before DF was shot." - which account's that matey?
