A few weeks ago I emailed the Riverside PD Chief, asking if any DNA obtained in the Bates case had been subjected to the newest techniques. Unsurprisingly, I received no answer. I've said before that I believe one of zks's POIs is Zodiac. Re the Bates case: so much evidence is available that it should have been solved long ago. Wish the FBI could subpoena the evidence and subject it to thorough analysis.

This is wonderful news of course. I have a problem with it being announced before the arrest takes place.

Most think he is dead, I do not believe that he has died.
Announcing he will be caught will give him "if he is alive" a heads up and he could get rid of all the evidence or kill himself !

The DNA that they are using are two of the July 31 69 letters and stamps. Results will be back in a couple of months.
