Do we have a picture of Mr. West?

Just been scurrying through my sent email inbox folder and discovered the actual FOIA request email I submitted to get this name released. I made the request on May 12, 2013. That is remarkable timing because I could not and did not know that Robert West died only weeks prior to this date! Anyway, just copied the original FOIA with a few changes where relevant, and I now ask for all redacted suspects names to be released. Will be at least 6 months once again at least before I get any details, if any at all, that they deem available for release. But, we have waited 44 years so far, another 6 months or so isn't going to be too long a time to wait

One particular article he writes is kind of interesting 'Flee Fornication'. He writes the following:

"Everyone can see that as the standards of morality decline in society, this has an impact among those who are children of God. That the practice of fornication has increased among young people in recent years, is a fact that few would deny. There are no "magical formulas" for parents and young folks with which to solve the problem. The fact that the words "fornication," "adultery," and related terms are used so frequently in the Bible should give us a clue as to the seriousness of the subject. These words are found no less than 92 times in the New Testament. By comparison, the words "murder," "killing," etc., are found only 32 times. That, in itself, should tell the sincere child of God why we should "flee fornication"

It almost sounds there as if he is implying that fornication and/or adultery is a sin worse than murder. He continues:

"The point is, that the consequence of some sins, in this life, are more disastrous than others. Such is the case with fornication. Right out front, it involves two people. In fact, it could well involve more than two, if one or both of the fornicators are married. I can cite you more than one example where a single act of fornication has affected the lives of literally dozens of people in the wake of broken homes, broken hearts, bitterness, guilt-related neurosis, etc. The consequences of this sin cannot be minimized."

Hmm, you can read into that in more than one way I suppose. He does attempt to use a rather odd analogy when he is attempting to dismiss the excuses given for consenting sexual partners. He states: "Most civilized people have come to understand that dueling is still murder, even though both parties have "consented" to the duel." I see what he's attempting to convey there that Consenting to be party to an act does not automatically mean the act itself is justifiable, acceptable or right. He is overlooking a slight difference in the analogy and the point of sexual sin and that is this: Nobody willingly consents to sex knowing that by the end of the encounter, one of the two consenting partners will be dead

A guy who spent time counting how many times the words "adultery" and "fornication" are used in the new testament eh? Very odd.

I see it the same way as you did , you requested the name that the 8 yr old gave to SFPD, so why it would be a different suspect would be pretty remote. Reguardless , it is a name none of us have seen before. I do hope that you will get the other names as well ? Being stationed in southern Caif., gives him knowlage of that area, that is important.
He may be the Zodiac, then again he may not, but the idea that his first name is "Robert" , fits into what I have always felt the Zodiac's first name would be. (Due to clues I have read and heard.)

Glad to see you back, I have always enjoyed your posts. Still trying to find a school picture of Robert H. West, no luck so far. His wife is Shirley, looks like he had a step son and daughter? For those of you looking for more info on Robert , there are other Robert H West's , one being Robt Henry West, so don't be mislead. If someone can find a high school picture, that would be good, I have searched the past few days, haven't found it yet .

Unless you can dig up a link between Mr. West and PH at the time, I think it is much more likely that Mr. West's name just happened to be at the top of the list. That is IMHO. It would make a lot more sense for an eight year-old to recognize a neighbor than a military preacher, but that is again IMHO. The only name on the list of an individual that comes from SF is placed directly above the reference to this kid's ID of a possible suspect. That would make sense in terms of context. It is a short name, regardless.

This info comes from the SFPD files, not from the FBI, so the SFPD should have these records.
