Hi, I'm James, a 35 yr old musician and accountant (yes, that classic combo) from London. I am fascinated by unsolved crime and serial killer behaviour, kicked off by coming across the Yellow Book in the mid-nineties. I'm afraid I'm very much a lurker, aside from some brief correspondence with Glurk on his site I rarely find I have much of value to add to the debate. So much has been written by now that a couple of minutes with the search function and there's already a thread on any question I could care to ask (if you include zkf and zk.com), and I don't want to add to unnecessary noise of which this case suffers more than most.
My gut feeling is that there are enough clues held back by LE (such as the FBI redacted pages here and there) that may hold the key we are all looking for - I just hope someone somewhere with access to that stuff is just as interested as we all are. That said, I am constantly amazed by the things various forum members manage to unearth from 40-50 years ago. A lurker like me who is familiar with most Z sites/forums easily recognizes the same names over and again, please know that you all do a wonderful job and I only wish I had the investigative skills to help more. I do have extensive music production skills + equipment so if anyone ever needs any help on that front (á la Gaik/Blaine tapes) then I'll be all too happy to help.
Finally, thanks to Morf for all the work you have done on this case, the FBI files were a real coup, and it's nice to find a forum that seems a lot calmer than most.

You've confused me a bit, as I don't actually have a website and never have, other than the ZKDecrypto page at Googlecode. But I have known and forgotten more stuff than I can remember. I'm just a cipher guy, and I also lurk and read much more than I post. Most others here know more details and minutia of the case than I do.

My feeling is that if we throw enough brains at this thing something will come loose. All contributions are valuable even when they are whacky. Bottom line is this board exists for us to work through ideas and thoughts. I've learned some things that I wouldn't have if I hadn't been involved. I couldn't investigate my way out of a paper bag but some of our members are quite skilled in that area. So don't worry about adding noise or asking questions that have been asked before - there's nothing new under the sun but maybe asking the right question at the right time might spark something in another member's head.

Apologies - just went and checked out the website I was talking about and it turns out it's a G Gluckman who runs it. I think at some point I must have got you guys mixed up! He has a work in progress called the Zodiac Mountain Theory and it's a very intriguing read - unfortunately some evidence has come to light recently that knocks it into the 'extremely improbable' category, however I recommend anyone take a quick look as it may still hold elements of truth.

I just read this. I never noticed the similarity between Glurk's name and mine before. I hope his good name is not tarnished by any accidental associations with mine.

James, welcome to zodiackillersite, belatedly, and thanks for the kind words.

P.S.: Just for the record, Zodiac Mountain Theory has indeed run into a big problem. It cannot be correct as originally envisaged--at least not without inserting a conspiracy theory--but it still has many aspects that puzzle the heck out of me. So, ZMT is not much of a work in progress at this point.

That said, Page Seven (PS) and "66 + 132" theories are still highly viable, IMO. I believe PS theory advances our understanding of the message “Des July Aug Sept Oct = 7″ from the bottom of the Dripping Pen card. I also discussed that idea in some detail in a couple posts on Tom Voigt's website.

I am on indefinite hiatus, but I am leaving everything as-is in case some other researcher happens down a similar path. At minimum they can avoid my mistakes. And maybe, just maybe, they will flip some of my observations around to see things in a new way.

I'm assuming this is a recent addition to your signature? I have to assume because it makes me feel better about not being very observant lol. Anywho, very cool. I haven't checked out any of the tutorials yet but I will. Certainly seems to be "stuff" thats of interest to me.

I have a passion for metal that goes beyond listening. I love 'equipment' and mixing and matching. By that I mean my never ending quest for 'good' distortion through various pieces of hardware. Many moons ago I played in metal bands ranging from speedcore to death and classic or traditional. I have though in kinda recent years moved on through many other types of music and my online footprint contains music that is not very metal at all. Love music no matter what it's genre.

I go through phases but metal was and is and always will be my first love in that regard. These days I satisfy that by buying guitars off ebay and modifying them by changing the pickups and setting them up whether that be truss rod adjusting or fret refinishing. My last one was a squire stagemaster and I swapped out the electronics for fender pots and switches along with a Dimarzio super distortion HB (more ebay purchases) and some no brand single coils but they read hot on my test meter. I also have a 91/92 MIJ Jackson Dinky LT with reflex slivers fitted, HSS config. I used to hate it until I learned how to set up a floating trem properly. Now she plays like a dream.

I run them through a Marshall MG50dfx with a Behringer virtualizer pro as a side chain. My distortion of choice for now is an Akai Shred-O-matic. I have others for variation but I loved the sound and feel of the Akai and hunted it down on ebay. The Marshall was bought from cash converters and the reverb didn't work and the fan was noisy. Some switch cleaner fixed the reverb and I bought a replacement fan.

I also run all of that through my pc. Cubase, Guitar rig, Amplitube etc etc. Although I still prefer the hardware for the sound.

Then there's the bass side of things but that's for another time lol. I've vented enough for now on my passions.

Aha! We're invaded by British heavy metal fanatics. Well, guys, I'm proud to say I attended a Gentle Giant concert in Cambridge in '72. I remember another of the audience complaining to me during a break: "Another concert fooked up by shitty acoustics!" The highlight for me was the drummer bouncing his sticks off the floor, catching them and continuing the beat without a break!
