I am 64 years old.
Attended Ramona High School in Riverside from 1964-67
Attended Riverside City College 1967-1969
Graduated from Fullerton State College 1969-1971
One year of graduate work at the University of California, Riverside 1971-72

At the time I never paid any attention to the zodiac case. I was aware that a serial killer was on the loose in the bay area but I didn't know any of the details about any of the murders. I was just to busy trying to complete my education.
I remember that there was some mention that the Bates murder was a possible zodiac victim but the Riverside PD went out of their way to debunk this connection. At the time I simply took their word that they must know what their doing and who am I to question their competence. I forgot all about the zodiac and it wasn't until I just happened to watch the movie "Zodiac" a couple of months ago that I saw something that just left me stunned. I was not aware that the killer had sent ciphers to the police and the media. When the ciphers showed up on the screen a huge CLICK went off in my head. I HAD SEEN THOSE EXACT CIPHER CHARACTERS years earlier on a desktop in the old RCC library and the Bates murder had taken place less than 200 feet away.

Welcome aboard, always good to get info from people living close to the case.
By the way, did you know Cheri Jo Bates,or her friends, or do you know of any possible fellow students of hers that might have been considered a suspect by fellow students?

No I did not know her. Ramona had a large student body and she was a year ahead of me. After graduation everyone went their own separate ways and I had very little contact with former Ramona students.
