I'm A Retired Police Officer / Victim's Family Member

Postby AlohaCop » Wed Feb 08, 2017 9:04 pm

Hello.

My name is Jason, and I am a retired police officer.

How did I find myself at this website?

A couple days after watching the movie "The Zodiac", I offhandedly asked my dad what it was like in the San Francisco Bay Area when the murders happened. And he responded: "I think he killed your cousin."

My dad is the first cousin of Maureen STERLING. She was one of the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker victims.

That spurred me to Google a few things -- and that is why I am here.

Hi Jason, nice to have you here. I have a website devoted to your cousin and the other girls that were murdered in Sonoma County in 1972 and 1973. Maybe you have checked it out???

The link is in my signature.

Yes, I did in fact! Thank you very much for creating it Ms. Silva. It is informative and well-designed.

I have learned more at your website than I have from my family at this point. It is obviously a tender subject even 45 years later...

I have a lot of research to do at this point both in digging up public information and talking to family. One of my uncles retired from Sonoma County Sheriff's Office, so I'm sure he has looked into it a bit.

As I said: it's a tender subject. That is the only explanation I have for why I am finding out about this now.

Jason I know it's a very tender subject with your family. I've tried to be as respectful as possible. Feel free to send me a PM. I have some info I've never posted because I felt it would be a bit more than Maureen's mother would be comfortable with.

Jason, we are very sorry for your loss and welcome to this site. We hope that some day these cases will be solved.Thank you for your service as a police officer!

The SRH murderer appears to be a serial rapist.

Rape for a serial rapist is not about sexual satisfaction, it is about the" hatred of females" in general. It is also about humiliation and control that the rapist has over his victims. That is why I think it is plausible that Zodiac who said he would change his way of collecting slaves, could be a suspect in some of these murders if not all of them.

I would like to know what the DNA shows about the person who did these crimes, now that DNA can give us what the perp most likely looks like ! Even if some were not raped but were left nude,is humiliation in the mind of the killer.

Seagull , do you know if LE are going to do something with the DNA that they have or not?
