Exclusive rights?? $$$$$$

For those of us who have spent 10, 15 or more years on the Zodiac case, I think what he is referring to is a history of people making announcements that they have major, game-changing, breakthrough information, but they can't release it right now. Over the years we have seen this happen again and again and again, and usually when the information is released, it turns out to not be very breakthrough or very major or significant, and in some cases the information never even arrives.

Whatever you have discovered, it is yours to do with what you wish. There really can't be any exclusive rights to the information, because if what you found is in the public record, police files, newspaper files, school yearbooks, or whatever it is, nobody really has a copyright on that kind of information. I don't think the History Channel or anybody else is going to pay for any information.

The bottom line is if you have some information that you feel is significant and important, by all means please go ahead and post it. You certainly found significant and interesting information in the yearbook, so I'm sure we are all eager to see what you have and discuss it and learn about it.

You can send him a private message. Otherwise, this is just like Tom Voight's stating he had information about the DMV letter that was to be released any minute. This was at least two years ago or more IIRC and still waiting.......

My apologies. What I mean is more like; "hey History Channel, I have some info that has never seen the light of day. Are you interested? If so, should I keep a lid on this for you or not?" My opinion is that it would be worth their while but that is up to them. If they arent interested, this site will be the first stop! I really wasn't trying to be dickish with my comment or try and lord anything over you. I do feel bad for even mentioning something in the first place. I'll refrain from here on out.

Why the need to get the History Channel involved? What is the point? Why do they deserve exclusive rights? Hence, my previous comment.

My advice to you is this, from someone who has spent over 15 years researching the case. Nobody is going to buy information from you.

Based on my experiences over the years, I strongly advise you post your information here first. Why? So others can see it, examine it, question it, question you and criticize it. There could be holes, weaknesses, gaps or other problems you haven't thought of with your information.

Others might have pieces of information and evidence that could add to what you have. You will get the benefit of many other researchers eyes looking at this material, including some who are neutral or even skeptical on Ross, which may provide valuable perspectives and insights.

If your information has gaps or problems, you will want to know and maybe fix them before approaching History Channel or other outside media. If it is as strong as you say, and there are no gaps or problems, it won't hurt. It can only make it better.

Can’t see the point in holding it back for the History Channel - they’d just use the info anyway. History Channel get most of their “groundbreaking” info from this very site - most of it has been shared here or on Tom’s site for several months or years before they package it up and put it on TV as some “outstanding breakthrough”.

Sorry I mis-remembered Tom Voigt's post about the DMV letter and his comments. It has been almost EIGHT YEARS now rather than two, so all I can say is we've all been waiting even longer for his "sources" to tell him whatever it was he was to be told! (Just reviewed link posted 7/14/2010).
I was very anxious to read about the letter since it conjured up more memories for me re. my poi.

It was interesting to read his post on the Zodiac Killer site re. a message he received from a former FBI employee but once again we are left dangling since he had to return this call and hadn't heard back (at least not the last time I checked). This contact was not long ago so perhaps Tom Voigt could make another effort to contact this person as well as whatever other "sources" he has.
