Today I got Harriet's death certificate in the mail. Nothing exciting, it was not suicide . She had breast cancer and under the giant ugly stamp they placed on it, it states she also had leukemia- megakaryoctic.(quick snapshot with my phone, but it looks legible)

And it does confirm to me now she was most likely the Harriet I found in Binghamton renting an apartment in a 1968 Polk where Harold was no longer listed, perhaps to finish up the school year? I will have to find it, but I have an article where she was appointed to a position at an elementary school in Binghamton. Or perhaps she was going to leave Harold, but when she developed cancer, she changed her plans.

I can't remember if its been posted, but Harold was "replaced" as youth director at the Binghamton YMCA ~September 4, 1957. (I realized I posted the wrong date for when he took the position, it should have been Sept 22, 1956, I will update that and it will need to be fixed in the timeline- Sorry!).

Here are a few interesting facts on Harriet before her passing. She was granted a teaching appointment at a Binghamton Elementary school (article dated Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1956, below).

I will post in the timeline thread an article of Harold "leaving" the YMCA for "plans in another part of the country," and being replaced in September of 1957.

But what I find most interesting is that Harriet stayed behind in Binghamton, renting an apartment, perhaps until they could find a replacement for her job? The info is from the Binghamton Polk from 1958, and was told by the genealogist the data was collected in the fall of 1957.

Her death certificate states she lived in California for 1.5 years, which puts her moving date to CA at the approximate time of her first cancer surgery- March of 1958 (unknown where the surgery was done, CA or NY). Obviously such a diagnosis would be reason to move back to your family, assuming they had all moved with Harold from the get go.

Is there a family tree or a detailed family list of Ross' family in any threads?
