I am just guessing here, but I think that is why suspicion increases. If you truly knot to your bones he is innocent, all it takes is one date, one time Ross wasn't able to kill cause he was in a hospital. Obviously, I cannot say what I would do or feel under the same circumstances, but I think if I had unambiguous truth of innocence, I would release it.

Of course, there is always the concern that our community all says, ok, that was someone else, but what about there rest?

And I don't know about Ted K's brother's feelings, but there us also a point where if you know a family member is ill and committing murder that you know needs to stop. Or, assuming its Ross, since he passed away, you just want it to be gone, too. No more harm can be done by his hands.

I can have my own theory for her and the family's silence, but what would you do? Tough call, even if you have the tiniest bit of doubt.

If their family member was innocent you can bet the house that they would be telling the world about it. It does make you wonder about them.

I know some disagree, but I think the way the family acts seems to suggest at the very least they think he might be guilty. It's obvious to see why he'd be a person of interest considering his mental illness background, his ties to the RCC library and the fact his brother was married to Cheri's best friend. By itself, this would make anyone curious about Ross. Take into account that Timothy likely believed Ross had killed Cheri, there's a lot of smoke there.

The fact that the family refuses to talk, even though they must by now know a bunch of people are looking into Ross on an internet site, is suspicious by itself.

Perhaps they could face accessory after the fact, if they helped cover up these crimes. I think they are afraid of this fact if they tell what they know. Because it is a murder case there are no statue of limitations.

If it was American's Most Wanted or 20/20 who came a knockin'...I'd certainly be more apt to provide information. When unknowns from some message board (or random nobody) makes contact...not so much.

I am honestly not sure why some find it mysterious. Some people are talkers and some are not. This was almost 50 years ago. Some take silence as a form of conspiracy, some take it as being private or someone with nothing to offer.

And for the record--if I knew of a family member or friend who killed people...I'd tell in a heartbeat. ;)

There are already people calling Ross a psychopath and a serial killer, in spite of zero proof that he killed anyone. So yeah, just having your name associated with Ross could be very, very bad in terms of keeping your job, friends and/or sanity.

I'm sure folks would talk to LE, but those conversations are confidential...and LE are supposed to be neutral, which amateurs tend not to be.

I hear what you are saying CT and if this were current news and he was actually a suspect of LE plastered on the evening news, then yes. This as it stands today? I think these folks will be just fine. :)

Everybody's different, but if I was one of Ross's Relatives, I would join this very forum, and prove everybody wrong, and provide details, writing, etc, that would prove my Family Member was innocent.
His Own Brother Tim thought he was Z,and when asked about that, his Family simply said "Tim was sick too". That's a real brush off. Ross has not been convicted of anything, and is innocent until proven guilty, but if he was my Family Member, and truly innocent, I would be clearing his name, even if he has been dead for 40 years

Do you think that when the family member said that "Tim was sick too" that they meant Tim, like Ross, had a mental illness?

Let's not forget that the one brother who lived in SF during the Zodiac crimes and had a close connection to CJB was sure Ross was Z. The other brother, who is blowing this all off, was in college someplace else not in the bay area.

It makes sense that he (Jon) doesn't want to defend Ross to a bunch of people on the internet. He must have moved on quite a bit since Ross' death with his own family. The thing I keep thinking of is Jon's kids. It would be a great burden to his kids, if he passes and they don't have anyway to learn the truth. They will always have to wonder if Ross was Z with no way of knowing...
