Wouldn't Katz have mentioned Ross living at Bonnie's old apartment? Or living with Tim and Bonnie?

Why do you think Ross lived in Bonnie's old apartment? Bonnie and Tim were gone by summer of 67 when we know Ross was about to go to school at UCSC. I assume Ross lived in that Santa Cruz apartment on 2nd street beginning in September of 67.

As for the USF mentions. I was only suggesting that if Bonnie went to USF, which we don't even know she did, in 1966-67, then Dennis Highland went to school there that same year. We know Cheri visited Dennis about two weeks before she was murdered.

At the time though, Ross was still living in Riverside, CA.

I know of no evidence that Ross had lived in any of Bonnie's apartments in San Francisco.

it would seem possible he visited there however. it would have
been a way for him to become familiar with that area.

I could see a situation where they would let him if they had a longer lease, and didn't want to stay. Maybe they would think it would be more affordable for Ross?? But there is no evidence where Ross lived in SF,if he ever lived there at all

Ya, I get that, but presumably they left in summer of 67. Ross was in Santa Cruz at least until Feb-March (and likely a little longer) 1968.

I think it's possible that he visited his brother and wife in summer of 67, before they left for Canada. Maybe helped them move? But I can't see him living there. I think that's a stretch.

and my point is just by visiting, even just for a brief period,
he would have started to become familiar with the area. i don't think
the YMCA was more than a mile and a half away.

Question about the listing. It has an h before the address which I was told usually means owns the house, r is for a renter. I suppose it could have evolved with time, maybe to be head of household if she was the primary leasee? Does your Polk have an explanation of abbreviations? (or its a typo, those directories are impressive). And it does look like other apartment names have h with them also. Too bad it didn't list her "job" if it was student.

Never mind, I found it, H is for householder, not renter. So does the plot thicken? Or was it a typo?

Edit: looked at criss cross-

Since 2361 & 2361a both have last name, Bartlett, could it be that a Relative owned the home and it was a duplex?
