Thanks, I Try to give the straight and narrow info as it comes in

very good work. but as Tahoe 27 told me, he doesn't take anyone's
word for any of this. he just wants facts! so, what we have is someone
45 years later giving us his remembrances of 2 brief exchanges with
Ross. let's see......Ross pulled a knife and tried to stab someone. CJB
and Lake Berryessa. he was nuts....didn't we know this. his weight was
not as big as 300 lbs. i stated yesterday overweight friends of mine
sometimes lost 100 lbs or more. singing Beatles songs.....it always seemed
Z was involved to some degree in the 60's counter culture. this is
confirmation of that if Ross was Z. i would be very dubious of the dates
this fellow relayed. they could easily vary by a year or more. which brings
me to the point of saying. "if" this is mostly accurate, it appears to make
Ross look more likely than ever as Z. again, Stine was Oct '69. after that,
we're just talking letter writing. what did Ross state earlier. he had to write
constantly to keep from hurting someone. in lucid times, i would imagine
he would still be able to write letters. but, in deference to Tahoe 27,
can we believe anything this fellow just told you?

That information on Ross is great. I really hope that you are able to get responses from more people that may have known him around that time. I really wish that the person could remember exactly the dates when he knew Ross.

I also hope that he is not underestimating Ross’s abilities. I have worked with people with all types of disabilities, including mental health, for a long time and people very frequently underestimate their abilities. Ross was a college student not that long before this time and although some people can go down hill fast, they also frequently have good and bad days. Since his experience with Ross is very limited and he saw him during low points (he was hospitalized the last time he saw him and most likely right before a hospitalization, the knife incident, this other example) it’s hard to say how he was at other times. The person you spoke to was not exact on the date and the letters ended (if I’m remembering correctly) at beginning of 1971 and then we had a three year gap. I have always said that I thought the later letters sounded like more like a little kid teasing someone than a horrifying serial killer.

I feel that this information leads more in favor of Ross being a good suspect than the other way around. If I did not have any experience with people with mental health, then I may say his statements rule him out, but since I do have a lot of experience I think what he says makes sense based on the killings stopping prior to his interactions and the way the letters sounded later on. It also would explain the large gap in time between the last confirmed letters.

Geeze almighty...

Here we go with another--(BBP).

I don't ask for facts (I prefer them), but I don't just assume everyone has the same perception as someone else--which is evident if we go by the newspaper and this person Morf talked to.

It doesn't have to be FACT, but I don't just take people's words for things, no. I don't know these flippin' people!!

Ross is suspicious. Suspect him! I am just not a witch hunter ready to put fire to the many POI's because of this stuff.

do i need to start quoting you?......to be honest, i agree with a
certain amount of skepticism with anyone's testimony that's
50 years old. the point i'm making is, after all this time and our
inability to access the records that would really help the most,
this kind of testimony is the best we can hope for. witchhunt?
maybe you should look at someone else as a suspect and drop
the Ross postings?

I will continue to post where I choose. You obviously don't completely take the word of this person Morf talked to either. You express doubts about how he perceived Ross. That is all I have done with these people. I just don't disregard the negatives and point only to the positives. Morf has expressed the positives and I AGREE with most of them, but I will also point out the flaws.

I'll say it again. Ross makes an interesting subject, more than most. If I didn't think so, I wouldn't partake and I certainly wouldn't have taken the effort to communicate with his brother.

Do you suspect anyone other than Ross BBP or is this case closed for you?

i suspected ALA for many years......and as far as circumstantial evidence,
he was really a likely candidate. but as the years went by.................
when i happened onto this site last spring, i was amazed by Ross.
the sketch, his connection to RCC and his move then to the San Fran
area. i will say again, we will never PROVE Ross was Z without the
help of Law Enforcement.

The Person I spoke to was giving, what I felt, was his honest recollection. He did add that, there was some acid going on around that time :? ,but he came across as honest, forthright, and not a burnout,LOL. Was he definitely sure it was 1970? I don't know, but he was giving his best recollection to the year.

again Morf, great work! and< i agree with Susie. based on what it read,
this testimony points the finger more than ever at Ross. [with the caveat,
that it is circumstantial] maybe in a few days when the shock wears off,
you'll feel that way too.
