his breakdowns could have been precipitated by guilt.
he was obviously raised as a Christian. then throw in a good
dose of fear over getting caught. those two things alone
would be enough to make most anybody have a breakdown.

in answer to your number 2) maybe this is the place he visited Paul_Averly...deer park hospital/ sanitarium/health farm St Helena. perfect location... specialized in diets and heart alcohol and smoking ..a health farm amongst other things from memory.. spas in early days. was discussed in other topics.
