Now, can we establish that Ross wore them while working at the RCC library? ;)

If we could find someone that could tell us the type of shoes Ross wore 50 years ago that would be awesome, but I don't have my hopes up. I couldn't even tell you the exact type of shoes I wore 5 years ago. :P

I wonder if there was a dress code of some kind, in order to work at the library. Not that Ross seems one to follow a dress code -- but he might have needed to try, at least when he first started there. I get the impression from letters and interviews that the librarians were still pretty buttoned up, back then. And, if they noticed that Ross had new clothes after being gone during the days after the CBJ incident, what specifically did they notice?

I have been thinking about this case all weekend, Zodiac's possible hunting territory and any way that Ross could be connected to the Vallejo area. Some random thoughts:

The Sullivan family all moved to Northern California after Cheri Jo was killed, and they seemed to have gone their separate ways. We have Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Berkeley, and Stockton.

And we have Lake Berryessa about 1-1/2 hours from Vallejo. Zodiac did drive around looking for victims. But he would almost certainly had to have known the Vallejo area quite well.

And we have Santa Barbara.

I think that the Boles Family murders is a very interesting case. In August of 1965, a family of four was murdered by someone with a .22 caliber gun and a knife in their mountain cabin in Crestline, California. The case remains unsolved to this day. I looked up Patton State Mental Hospital where the librarian said Ross bragged about escaping from, and that is about a 27 minute drive to Crestline, but only a few miles as the crow flies. That was only 14 months before Cheri Jo, and remains unsolved.

If Ross was anywhere near Vallejo, then the connection must be work, school, family, or maybe church. I wonder if Ross's father had church connections up there which could put Ross at a summer camp in the Bay Area as a teen. Or something similar.

Sorry, I have been in another area of the site for quite a while, but aren't there some things that haven't been explored?

We have one brother who allegedly said that he thought that Ross killed Cheri Jo and may have been Zodiac. His brother. And we have one brother who said that Ross was crazy, but would never harm anyone.

And we have the Confession Letter, which was very personal. The author spoke of rejection, used Zodiac like words and phrases, like "the game" and "shall."

What about the poem that Ross wrote, the one that was published. We never got that. PinkPhantom was going to look at that. I wonder what ever happened to her. Pink, are you still out there?

Good points Smokie, Ross creeped out the RCC library people with a morbid poem, and low and behold, the writing on the RCC desk is a morbid poem(not saying both poems were the same, we don't know what was in Ross's poem)

Both Brothers had differing opinions of Ross, the one that thought he was z got married in the SF area, and may have been around there during z crimes, the other Brother was away in another state going to college. How familiar was he with the z case details or what Ross was up to?

Bottom line here, I'll put my money where my mouth is, I'll pay for a DNA test, if his Brother agrees to one, I know he or somebody in his Family reads this forum. Then Ross can be cleared which I'm sure his Brother would like. Then we can find out which one of these Ross groups is correct the believers or the dissenters

I think that we should get the poem somehow. Go for the low hanging fruit.

That poem might be in a landfill someplace, from decades ago. I have no idea how,or where we could find it.

If he wrote one poem then perhaps he wrote others, or even had a private collection?

Maybe a family member would have them, or he could have written when institutionalised. They tend to make patients focus on positive and productive activities in those places to help them get better.

The librarian said Ross' poem appeared in one of the "school publications". Someone could track down older alumni of RCC and try to learn which student groups made campus publications, what the names of the publications were, and who might be able to track down copies.

There are other things that haven't been found yet, too. Like Ross' transcripts (which apparently were given to Dave Peterson). And has anyone tracked down Ross' brother's foster father, who the librarian claims was the pastor of Cheri Jo's church? What was the foster father's name? What is the name of the church?

One was the "Tiger Times", the student newspaper. A sample of that paper is on this thread:

So, where can we find more issues of that paper? Maybe one of them has weird poems by Ross.

UPDATE: Here they are, listed on the Riverside library's web site: http://lamp.rcc.edu/search~S7?/Xtiger+t ... D&1%2C1%2C

Someone needs to go and spend a few days scanning them all. :)
