Again if we are comparing handwriting of Z to Ross, we can't take everything so literally (must do it with a grain of salt) as Ross allegedly practiced/studied changing handwriting styles (what I wouldn't do for his alleged term paper on it!). The CJB envelope and letter for example really demonstrate deceptive handwriting techniques like changing the script and position of every word or letter. We know Z could have messy handwriting on one hand, but then was capable of making very detailed and perfected symbols for ciphers on the other hand. Let's give them both a little more credit. With Z One second it looks like the script of a 13 year old boy and the next it's perfect script of someone with fine dexterous motor skills. No wonder why so many theorize two different people were responsible for the ciphers and script.

Yeah, no doubt that Ross choosing to write a paper about various writing styles is of interest. I too would love to see what he had to say in that paper :?:

I won't bother the blah blah, explanation for it... but after looking at that darn n for a long time and noticing his tendencies for his upper case letters, I DO finally see what you guys are talking about!

The crazy thing to me is that I don't think those Count Marco "n's are a match for any of Zodiac's other ones, totally different construction. Yet for Ross, you have the same tendencies that Zodiac typically uses combined with the construction from the Marco letter.

That was really the only one that threw me off to the "no way". Now I'm holding firmly on "maybe" ;)

Z only used cursive or stylized writing twice. And one was for 3 letters "SLA." Both samples match Ross's own signature. I don't think that close of a match has been discovered with any other suspects.

Yeah, one thing that I noticed is that Ross uses a mix of print and cursive, so that's good for us. Even with a small sample size here, you can still get some impressions.

If he wrote in all super fancy cursive, I'd say it would make it pretty hard to compare. Plus just for me, I feel like Zodiac wouldn't write that way. Just in terms of style, never mind the exact matches, this is what you would expect/want to see. That's another good thing.

Letter P comparison between Ross & Z. The one on the left is Ross. It's God awful quality, but I am more interested in the formation of the underneath of the loop. It seems as if it's quite similar, as far as angle, and where it starts

Ross Number 5 compared to Zodiac. The tops appear different, but the bottom design of both is pretty similar. It's more apparent when flipped

I tried to get a better higher resolution, clearer, or digital copy of Ross's SS application, but was informed by the SS admin, that there is NOT a way to get a better or clearer copy,so unless we suddenly get more of his writing, this one copy is it.

Somebody sent this to me. It's a comparison of Ross's abbreviation of the word California. He writes CaL. Capitalizing the C & the L bot not the a in between. The Riverside Press Enterprise letter linked to Zodiac, is capitalized the same exact way. Any confirmed Z letters use this method or habit?

Closest I can find so far is the Lake Tahoe card.
