I can't help finding that image - being pinned inside a phone booth by a big naked guy - grotesquely funny...
On a more serious note, though - he really was a huge guy. Too huge? That would be the question, I guess.

We know that it's likely z was over 200 Lbs at Berryessa, does that mean he could have been 300?? Not sure.
I would think that Ross must have gotten attention from this incident from Family, authorities, etc
Maybe they started paying attention to him.
At least we have a definite arrest date, it would make it easier to find a police report

Looks like Dave Peterson knew something about Ross. Maybe pulled his arrest record. Does anyone know if his widow is still alive?

Ross has a widow, or do you mean Dave Peterson?
Too bad it doesn't have a name of the man that was pinned in the phone booth.

Funny picture for sure, but there are some other obese people living in Santa Cruz, also 26 yr. old ones. Interesting as the man was from Riverside..
Nevertheless I can't see (or 'trust') how this should be Ross, mainly as I did not expect Ross to be that blubbery during that time. Both, Z and Ross were rather stocky or so but explicitly not fat or blubbery, weren't they? In fact, wouldn't this even rule out Ross as being Z, due to the weight but also because of the height (Z rather being 5'8'' to 6'0'' than 6'2''?)?
There are hundreds if not thousands of incidents like this and I think it is very unlikely that Ross was that heavy, was he?
Most funny part of it is actually that the guy inside the phone booth had access to a phone to call police..wonder what would have happend if he had hidden himself inside e.g. a garage?
