Howard is trying to dig more up on that.

Have you spoken with him recently about that? Will you share the information once you get it?

Howard will share everything he Finds, and I will pass it along too.

That's certainly a possibility that the incident could be connected to Bates, but I think there is no police report that can be found about that incident.

i just knew somehow that a berkely nut would be involved..not utterly convinced RS is the guy but damn he does fit my age profile and the timeline looks like it can be substantiated up to and including time he was in san fran...Z is/was slippery so I am on board but leery with RS...may be RS and TK hooked up and may be the multiple Z's theory will bear some fruit for those that have pushed that angle over the years...god speed

I made this animation, trying to line up the faces to the composite sketch:

Give it a few moments to load.

Apart from anything, I'm loving the widow's peak. Almost every suspect hasn't had this which is strange considering that Fouke explicitly stated that the guy he saw that night had receding blonde-ish hair with a very prominent widow's peak - something that Ross definitely had. I've never bought the explanations that Z might have bought a bald head wig with a receding widow's peak in it. Definitely possible but more likely that the guy he saw just had exactly what he said.

My only issue is his height / weight. Z was mainly described as well-built although more often than not somewhere between 5'8" and 6" and 160 - 200 pounds. The photo showing Ross's body is certainly consistent with being "well-built" but Ross has also been described as "a huge man" and seemed to get bigger with age until he was "clinically obese". Now if he was around 6ft and about 200 pounds (fairly big to some) then he would still be within the witness parameters although definitely at the top end. If however Ross was say 6'3" and 260 pounds by the end of 1969, I'd have trouble believing everybody got the estimates so wrong. It would especially have to rule him out of abducting Kathleen Johns who sat next to someone for hours who was described as about 5'8" and 160 pounds.

Perhaps his brother could shed some light on this and confirm his height and also approximate size around that time frame (rather than the 1977 description of him stating that he was clinically obese)?

'Obese' in 1969-77, is probably not the same as today. The USA in general is overweight or obese, probably much more than the population in 1969-77.

Ross may have been only overweight in 1969, and obese by 1977. The two Berryessa Victims described Zodiac as being heavy or overweight, bulky, and having a belly hanging over his belt

So did Mike Mageau in his original statement to the police. In fact, every known Zodiac witness described him as being overweight. I don't believe the person who abducted Kathleen Johns was the Zodiac.

In Doranchak's gif (I assume it's a gif?) , the second picture after the Stine composite shows a very definite droop to his left eyelid, just like in the composite. one of the best matches I've seen. But damn it's frustrating that every man between 21-35 seemed to look the same back then, maybe there was just one crazed and overworked yearbook photographer in the whole state.

How many of them had mental illness, and were fixtures in the Riverside Library prior to moving to the SF Bay area? That list shrinks down quite a bit, down to likely, one...Ross
