Agreed. Most software offers left and right aligned (justified) and center alignment. The default is usually left aligned text with a ragged right edge.

Fully-justified text has straight edges on both the left and right sides. It’s what most newspapers use. When done well with either hand tuning or very good software it looks very professional. When done with poor quality software with unsophistic wordspacing and letterspacing it has those rivers of whitespace flowing down the page between words.
