I am just going to give a bit of dissent, but first I do find Ted K. fascinating and have read AK's blog located elsewhere?
I think he was the Tylenol killer, did some preliminary testing just outside of Montana as you said, and did other killings unconnected at all to him by most others (I a recalling one in TX at a University research site where someone was killed, but am blanking on details, and more you had listed). Your research, AK, is astounding. I agree WOOD was an important element, and of course his bomb signature and was certainly for preserving nature.
However, I disagree with the Donna Lass connection, which I also don't think was Z. If we do want to talk about the Sierra Club (I am a member), it is interesting to note that Sierra CC islocated in California (Sacramento, and later expanded to other satellite campuses including near Tahoe), and there is, of course, a now famous attendee, Joseph James DeAngelo Jr. who I think makes a good candidate for her disappearance and likely death (as I duck from all the detractors), but there were reports of her walking with someone who resembled JJAJ's composite right before her disappearance. I think JJAJ will be linked to more crimes as we learn more, but I digress.
Ted K. was certainly in the right place to be Z, coincidences such as Cherry St and other nature terms can be drawn, but the phrase "around in the snow" doesn't phase me. IT is clearly cut as a phrase from somewhere and pasted whole on the card so someone else wrote it. Also, I live in NY and I could see myself using it- "look at the kids playing around in the snow," yesterday we went cross country skiing around in the snow"- as we often do loops on ball fields, etc. Also, if you do a quoted google of the phrase, you get tons of hits, from West VA to Seattle, WA to name a few, so its also not a regionalized phrase. A coincidence, sure, but cherry picking a phrase here and there to make a Z connection (and assuming Donna Lass was killed by Z, or Ted K. with the assumption of them as one in the same) doesn't add much to your case.
But still, lots of good info and I search and change my favorite POI for Z, I am not sure what will be the nail in the coffin for my decision. There are many I can see and you have made a strong case, and others I have long since dismissed. So I will leave it at that, and keep up the good work. Enough coincidences that are strong can make a case!

Thanks for the response, and your kind words about my research in general, and on the Tylenol case and TK's wood obsession in particular. Your dissent and criticism on other points is welcome and may lead to an illuminating discussion. Most importantly, I do not (as others have done with other POI's) pick out one word my POI used and trumpet that as matching a word Z used. Consider all the following:

I do think the shared word usage of Kaczynski and Zodiac is remarkable, and unlike what we see in any other Z suspect.
----------------------
In the Bates confession letter, it says "This letter should be published for all to read it. It just might save that girl in the alley.
BUT THAT WILL BE UP TO YOU. IT WILL BE ON YOUR CONSCIENCE, NOT MINE".
In the Kaczynski Utah letter it says "When I contact my new friend summer of 1988 and he tells me you have kept your nose clean you will have nothing to fear.
IN OTHER WORDS, YOUR FATE IS IN YOUR OWN HANDS."
In both letters, the criminal puts the responsibility to the reader "That will be up to you" and "Your fate is in your own hands". The criminal tells the reader what to do "publish this letter" and "keep your nose clean". If they don't the threat is there for more murders, but it is up to the reader.
Very unusual, very specific and very similar.
We all know that Ted Kaczynski eluded capture as the Unabomber for 18 years, and that the FBI had a 25,000 name suspect list that did not include his name. But Ted Kaczynski's downfall, what led to his capture, was that he used certain very specific and odd words and phrases that virtually no one else used. David Kaczynski recognized these words and phrases used by the Unabomber as ones that his brother Ted had used. This included the phrase "cool headed logician." It also included Ted's unique phrasing of the old cliche "You can't have your cake and eat it too" as "You can't eat your cake and have it too."
There are many, many other examples.
Zodiac: Police should have "sat there quietly waiting for me to come out of
cover." Zodiac Stine Letter, October 13, 1969, to SF Chronicle.
Kaczynski: "I went down there and watched, from
cover, a guy with a bulldozer...".
Unabomber: The Secret Life of Ted Kaczynski, by Chris Waits and Dave Shors, p. 278.
Analysis: Both Zodiac and Kaczynski describe hiding from and watching enemies behind forestry as from "
cover", a military term.
Zodiac: "was a negro about 40 -45 rather
shabbly dressed." Zodiac Letter of August 4, 1969, to SF Examiner.
Kaczynski: "their homes looked
shabby".
Technological Slavery, p. 397.
People will tell me sometimes "Oh here is a person who said "rather messy", and sometimes I say "no longer", and someone else said "around in the snow". What is interesting is that both Zodiac and Ted Kaczynski used dozens and dozens of the same words and phrases, and some are not very common, like "rather messy", "around in the snow", "contrary to what police say", "evidence only I and police know", etc. Consider all of the above examples, and if you want more go to the section "Shared Words and Phrases", and also look at the many handwriting similarities and exact matches.
