I thought that the season as a whole was good, although I had mixed feelings about the finale. I think people that didn't like it may have been opposed to it due to the 1st season, which was great, but a lot different. Anyhow, just curious what everybody else thought, and can't wait to see next year's cast & story

I only saw a couple episodes, but it looked really good.

Re: The guy who's eyes were burnt out with acid. That's what I felt like after watching it. I'll be surprised if there IS a third season, to be honest. The crow head and Elvis impersonator were the highlights, and that's not saying much.

I'd prefer that a show named "True Detective" have some, um, actual TRUTH to it, as per what a detective really does. Because this show ain't it, LOL. I mean, it is atmospheric, filmed well, acted well, etc., but the plot SUCKS. Sorry, just my opinion. Both 2 seasons.

The 2nd half of season 2 was a big improvement over the first half. I enjoyed it quite a bit despite the unbelievably convoluted and implausible plot. But it still lacked the talented direction of Cary Fukunaga which was what made season 1 so good IMO. The top moments of season 1 were the "a dream and the monster at the end of it" speech, and that unbroken long shot of the raid from episode 4. Season 2 lacked those epic moments.

But this is even more awesome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJyUhoLx-qE

I liked Vince Vaughn's final scene. The cast was excellent. I liked the story for the most part, but the plot and storyline was not as good as season 1. I would like to see it take the path of more detective work. Maybe a Missing child, or a cold case detective who inherits an old unsolvable case and goes back thru all the details, suspects, witnesses etc. I think there will be a season 3,or at least I hope there is. I hope there will be a good cast, but better storyline.

Yeah, and season one had a lot more of a sense of dread than the second season did, so things got more and more interesting as the heroes got ever closer to the truth. Didn't feel that way so much in season two, since there were soooo many players in the implausible conspiracy they were trying to unravel.

By the way, if you want to watch a series that feels authentic about its subject matter, watch season 4 of Homeland. That series started off very strong in the first season but milked the Brody plot line for far too long. I had low expectations for season 4, but man, it was awesome. It captured a lot of contemporary aspects and challenges of the fight against terrorism. The overarching story of season 4 was believable and very well-written.

What did everyone think of the new season of Orange is the New Black? I have only watched about half of it so far and found it pretty boring.
