Nice to see some of the old cases are being solved. Not as old as the Z case but still old & solved by DNA.

Fabulous, Zam. Isn't that heart-warming? Ahhh, justice.

After 25 years, I imagine that "Chavez and Presencion [who] are Mexican nationals who were living in Vallejo at the time" must have found being arrested in connection with this murder a bit of a surprise and an inconvenience.
Full names here, btw:

I suspect that they haven't led blameless lives since, hmmm? In order to pop up in a DNA trawl......

Thanks for the post, Zam! Might provide a wake-up call for LE re Zodiac. (Well, I can hope, can't I)?

This is especially good news for me as it was the Sonoma County Sheriff's that gathered and ran the DNA for this case. I know that they gathered DNA from a couple of the SRHM victims about the same time, so it gives me hope.

SCSO along with a few other CA counties were given grants in 2009/2010 specifically for obtaining DNA from cold cases because of the Joseph Naso case. They were seriously looking for other murders that he might have committed because of all the photos, journals and other circumstantial evidence found when doing a search on his Reno property.
