Listening to the rain fall on the roof

Years ago I read an interesting tidbit about one of my favorite comical actors. WC Fields had mentioned to his biographers that he enjoyed listening to the rain hitting the roof. And being inside his home sheltered from the storm, he would listen in comfort to the cold rain beating down on the roof. He was very poor growing up and having a roof over your head in those days was not a given. I've always enjoyed it too. There is something quite comforting about being in your house and listen to the rain come down, all snug and dry.

I agree. Thunderstorms are one of the best things in the world. I grew up in Iowa with a ton of great storms, and have been in New Mexico for 12 years now and the storms here suck! Tonight we are getting one of the best ones we have had since I moved here, but still doesn't compare to midwest storms. Time to throw on some Pink Floyd and smoke a doobie and watch the storm!

The only times that I get good sleep are during thunderstorms.

We had a good rain day yesterday. A little Strawberry Cough brightened it up real nice though.
