EUROPE, Ulster hall, 3/3/15
Not long back from watching Stockholm's finest, Europe in concert. Support was from Black Star Riders and Amorettes.
What can I say. The last time Europe played here was 1989 also in the Ulster Hall. That same year and place was my first ever gig WASP. So here were are some 26 years later, give or take and I finally got to see one of the first 'rock' bands I ever listened to. It was awesome and Joey Tempest is Legend on stage. I care not a jot that some might think it's cheese but I f**kin love them.
They played one of their songs with Gary Moore's actual Strat. The set was ended, very approporiately with, The Final Countdown.
Speaking of legends. Scott Gorham on guitar with Black Star Riders. So apart from their own material there were plenty of Thin Lizzy Songs.
And a young, all female, rock, 3 piece from Glasgow kicked off the evening and were very cool. The Amorettes.
Some evidence I didn't dream it all. lol.
