For my money Spain are the favourites - again. Last hurrah for that great generation of players. Well drilled as a team, more strength up front this time around than four years ago - will be hard to beat, I think.
Germany? If they'd had the sense to sack Löw and give the job to someone who knows how to organize a defence - then yes. As it stands the Germans will be punished for naivety at the back. And some downright foolish selections on the part of said Löw.
Brazil won't live up to the expectations. Damn solid at the back this time around - a little lacking on the attack.
Argentina - an outsider if Messi shows up.
England = forget it. Not enough quality - and Hodgson will pick the wrong team every time. Count on that.
Portugal = dark horse. If Ronaldo really shows up. But they still don't have a decent striker - remarkably enough. Ronaldo will have to outdo himself.
My old love = Italy. But I don't fancy their chances. Will root for 'em, though. I also have a weakness for Japan - I like their style and hope they'll do well. Very tricky group for them, though.
