Zodiac is actually my favorite movie. I remember the anticipation before going to see it. I was a huge David Fincher fan (still am) and he had made a movie about something I'd been fasinated with since childhood. But unlike most movies that you build up before you see it, this one didn't disappoint. It was the only time I was scared watching a movie. Afterwards, my fasination turned into a bit of an obsession.

I'm not a Graysmith fan, but focussing the movie around Graysmith worked.

As much as I love Zodiac, the movie, it only touches the surface. If it was possible to do a Bachelor's Degree majoring in Zodiac Killer studies, Fincher's film would be viewed in the first class of Zodiac 101. That's how much more to this case there is.

Ditto on Joes pick for zodiac ...I just hate blatant use of CGI in films or in this case video .

Years ago, I was in a lineup buying the DVD, and this lady behind me just blurted out to me how much she hated Zodiac. She said something to the effect of, I hate to spoil it in xase you haven't seen it, but it's a long, boring movie, and they don't even catch the guy in the end. I told her it was one of the things I loved about it. In fact, I'd argue the opposite. I didn't say this to her, but I think Fincher tried to clue it up a little too much by making it seem likd ALA was still a viable suspect.

Zodiac is up there at the top of my list for sure. I like so many, and it's hard to make one a favorite,so I will post some of them in no special order-

Zodiac
Halloween
Black Christmas
Legend Of Boggy Creek
Shawshenk Redemption
American Pie
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Platoon
The Town that dreaded Sundown
Dark Night Of The Scarecrow
Band Of Brothers
and dozens more I forgot-

Honorable mentions, movies I usually will not pop into the dvd player, but if I find them on cable, I will watch them everytime-
Roadhouse
Point Break
Horrible Bosses
Hall Pass
Wedding Crashers

Platoon is a classic. Sheen and Stone at their peak.

Anyone have a favorite director? Kubrick is mine. He is the greatest, there is no arguing it.

2 is lousy...1 and 3 is fine and surely better than blade runner :),

The Marathon Man is a nice one, too.

V for Vendetta, Godfather1, Seven, Sixth sense...so many good films to chose from, good in their own way.

My all time sf movie is probably Aliens2 or Star Wars (childhood memories).
