 Oh come on.

That same 1/10th of 1% did that back before video games. What influenced the shooter at the Clock Tower?

The content of video games might be questionable at times but it can't be used as a reason to explain the actions of nutjobs. Sure these people might gravitate towards the violence in some games but in the really real world most of us know its not real. Yes it is based on reality but it doesn't inspire us to act it out. There is however a very real problem with some people who are inspired to do that. It's not what they are inspired by that's the problem, it's that they were inspired to carry out atrocities against other human beings that's the problem. Is media blameless? probably not but media doesn't kill. people kill and were all people. We need to sort out this need to kill. I've never felt it and I can only worry for those that do . It's not our nature so who's is it?

What influenced Charles Whitman ? tahoe 27, likely his Marine experience . why is there a rash of spree killings in past decade's ,yea there were s killings in years before we had video games in homes ,but no where near the numbers we have now . It is starting to become the norm to see a spree killing on breaking news . play your COD for 5-6 hours every night for a week and lets see if you change and some do this . The Power Rangers was a very popular kids TV show, taken off the air because parents claimed it turned there kids violent over night.

Silliness. Maybe we should get rid of Marines.

Heard alllll this before. Ozzy Osbourne will be turn you into a Satanist, Judas Priest will make one commit suicide, Elvis swinging his hips...cowboys & Indians...toy guns...porn magazines.

The tweekers are out there, but don't take away my enjoyment because of the twisted few. I'm an adult!

How about nixing alcohol because of what it does to society?! It's involved with more deaths (almost 10,000 people in 2011 in the U.S. alone) every year than any shooting or terrorist attacks will ever be, but no one seems to give a rip about that.

--FYI, the Power Rangers aired from 1993 to 2002.

Or buy peppermints IIRC.I'm going to see Ozzy play with Black Sabbath next month, I really hope that won't turn me into a satanist, I'm a christian and in the words of Francence from American Dad "How am I going to explain that to Jesus?" lol.

1st to the alcohol reference that is suicide ,not spree killings ,so apples to oranges .
What I am talking of is being able to go to school ,a movie theater , a job and not having to worry about you and 15 others getting slaughtered.
You just like an agruement Tahoe 27 ....this is where you say no I don't .
I was making a point, not attacking you prefrence /passions for playing violent games. I have played GTA and Marine Sniper too
As for the power rangers a large number of stations canceled that program before it ended it's run
google Power Rangers violence you will find a long list

to bring this full circle, I didn't even bother with COD Ghosts even though I've been an avid fan since COD4. I think they were all pretty much worth the money but after the clusterf*ck that was MW3 I vowed never to buy another IW version again. I've looked at a fair few reviews and it seems to be getting in the region of 5-7/10 so it's certainly not setting the world on fire. I think Treyarch have done quite well to balance the game so far so I might well consider their first next-gen effort.
In recent years I've slowly moved over to the Bad Co / Battlefield series, I find the design better in one fundamental way - unfair deaths are much fewer than with recent CODs and that's the one thing that sends my blood pressure sky-rocketing. I've not bought BF4 yet as I'm waiting for my PS4 and I refuse to buy any cross-gen games for the older consoles. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with the PS3 beta, the graphics were terrible and the menu systems seemed very clunky. Has anyone put enough hours into give a good idea of MP yet?

BO2 wasn't bad but a lot of quick scopers now but other then that it can still be enjoyable. You are right though IW sucks now and MW3 was bad but Ghost is worse and the spawns are awful and you end up getting shot in the back constantly like it was free for all mode. Give BO2 a shot though.

Worse than MW3? My jaw hit the ground when I read that. I hate the way they seem either completely ignorant of the things their fans hate or they are so arrogant they think people will just 'get used to it'. The trouble with a badly designed game though is that people don't get used to it, they just stop playing.

I think they are arrogant and as for MW3 it was my least favorite of the series but now Ghost has top that for me. The new IW sucks and won't buy another by them. I thought the old IW was great and MW2 was and still is my favorite of the series.
